How do I add tracks to a product and enter track data?

Modified on Wed, 22 Oct at 11:34 AM

Click “+ New Track” to add a track to the product. First enter the title of the track (this can be changed later) and then click “Continue to Upload.”

Drag the audio file into the corresponding window or select it from your computer by clicking “Browse Files.” Once you have selected the track, click “Upload Track.” You will then need to enter the metadata for your track.

Add more tracks:
If you want to add more tracks, go to “Back to Product” and add more tracks to the product. You can also change the track order here if necessary. Please make sure that the tracks are in the correct order, as this cannot be changed after uploading. Click on the pencil icon to the left of the tracks to enter the metadata for your tracks.

Artist:

If you have already created your artist profile under “My Artists,” you can simply select the artist here. If you haven't done so yet, you can create your artist profile by clicking “+ New Artist.”

Be sure to enter your artist profiles for Apple, Spotify, and Deezer (if already available) to ensure that your release appears on the correct artist page. If this is the artist's first release, you don't need to enter anything here. The digital music services will then automatically create a new profile for your artist. These profiles will then be automatically adopted for future releases.

If your release features another main artist, featured artist, or remix artist, you must also create them in advance and activate an additional membership for them (€12/artist/year). All artists with active memberships can be selected directly when creating a product.

Title:

Enter the title of your song here. Please do not include any additional information in this field, such as the artist, additional artists or other contributors, version names, or anything else other than the actual title of the song.

Identical Track Titles:

If there are identical track titles by the same artist, the track that is not the original version must be marked with an additional entry in the version field.

Title language:

Select the language of the track title here. It does not matter whether the track is instrumental or in which language the song is sung. This only refers to the language of the actual title. Example:

Track Title: "Sunshine" (Title Language: English)

Track Title: "Azzurro" (Title Language: Italian)

Version name:

If there are several different versions of a track, you can enter a version name here to distinguish the tracks from each other. Choose a unique version name for all versions, such as: Radio Edit, Extended Version, Instrumental Version, etc.

Cover version:

Please select whether this track is a cover version of another track.

Main genre/subgenre:

Please select the appropriate main and subgenre for your track here. If you have already specified the genre for your artist under “My Artists,” the genre will be adopted when you create a new product. However, you can of course adjust this pre-set selection for each release if your artist is active in different genres.

Non-exclusive samples/producer loops:

If your track contains content that is not exclusively yours to use, such as royalty-free beats or samples, public domain content, etc., please select “yes.” Tracks with non-exclusive samples or producer loops (e.g., from Splice, Producer Loops, Loopcloud) are not suitable for distribution on digital music services that use content fingerprinting systems such as YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok due to potential copyright conflicts.

Pre-Listening:

Here you can specify which section of the track will be played during “prelistening” (audio sample) on digital music services. The duration is limited to 30 seconds. Please note, however, that Yeebra has no influence on whether digital music services accept the selection or determine it at their own discretion.

Important exception: TikTok. The sequence you select here is the sequence available on TikTok for this track!

Recording country:

Please select the country where the track was recorded.

Recording year:

Please select the year in which the track was recorded.

Does your track contain lyrics?

If your track contains even a single word, please select “yes.” “Instrumental” is only permitted if there are no words in the entire track.

Additional fields when selecting “Contains lyrics”:

Lyrics language:

Please select the language in which the track is sung.

Contains explicit lyrics:

If the song lyrics contain profanity, please select “contains explicit content.”

Lyrics origin:

Enter lyricists:

Select “Enter lyricists” to enter the lyricist’s first and last name. Abbreviations are not permitted.

It is also necessary to enter a lyricist for AI-generated music. If you created the prompt for the lyrics, enter yourself as the lyricist.

Enter the full name and click “+ Add Lyricist” to apply the entry to the track. Repeat this step, if there are multiple authors for the lyrics.

Traditional:

Only select “Traditional” if the lyrics are from the past century or earlier, have ancient roots, such as a folk song, where the lyricist is unknown. A folk song is a traditional melody or song that is usually passed down orally and is created through collective dissemination and rewriting.

Incorrect use of “Traditional” causes additional work during quality control, requires correction on your part, and thus delays the publication of your product.

Performers:

Enter the musicians and singers who contributed to this track here. The performers you added to the corresponding artist in “My Artists” will be listed automatically. If other or additional musicians and singers appear on a track, you can add them here. To do so, enter the performer’s name and select the corresponding role.

Production Team:

Enter the producers, sound engineers, and other technical staff who were involved in the creation of the tracks here. To do this, enter the name on the left and select the appropriate role.

Composition origin:

Enter composers:

Select “Enter composers” to enter the composer's first and last name. Abbreviations are not permitted.

It is also necessary to enter a composer for AI-generated music. If you created the prompt for the song, enter yourself as the composer.

Enter the full name and click “+ Add composer” to apply the entry to the track. Repeat this step, if there are multiple composers for this track.

Traditional:

Only select “Traditional” if the track was composed before the time of analog audio recordings, such as a folk tune, where the composer is unknown. A folk tune is a traditional melody or song that is usually passed down orally and is created through collective dissemination and transformation.

Misuse of “Traditional” causes additional work in quality control, requires correction on your part, and thus delays the release of your product.

Label:

Enter the name of your label here. If you don't have a label, you can also enter your name or artist name.

Publisher:

Enter your publisher here. If your tracks are not published, you can also enter your name or artist name. Important: if it is a cover version of a song, you must list the publisher of the original work here.

Publishing year:

Select the year in which the track is/was released.

To save all your entries, please click on “Save changes.”

Click “Back to Product” to enter the data for any additional tracks, or if you have finished entering the track data.

Once you have filled in all the fields and checked your data, you can submit your product by clicking “Release.”
